Privacy
Privacy, in English
Short version: we keep what the app needs to work, we don't sell any of it, and you can have it deleted.
What we collect
- Your account: email, a display name, and a password we store only as a one-way hash.
- What you put in the app: pins, trails, folders, sits, sightings, harvests, photos, notes, and who you share folders with.
- Location: while the app is open and you have live sharing on in a folder, your position is sent to the people in that folder. When you log a sit or a sighting, the location is saved with it. The GPS only keeps running with the screen off while you're recording a trail or sharing live, and your phone shows a HuntWhere notification the whole time it does.
- Technical bits: the address your phone connects from, the device type, and when you signed in, kept for security and to find bugs.
- This website: the sign-up form (what you type in it), and server logs of requests, which include your address. No analytics scripts, no ad pixels, no third-party anything.
What we do with it
Run the app. Show your crew what you've shared with them. Send you the reports you've turned on. Keep the bad guys out. That's the list.
What we don't do
- Sell it. Rent it. Trade it. Give it to advertisers, data brokers, "partners" or anyone else.
- Show your stands or your location to anyone not in a folder you've shared.
- Put trackers on this site or in the app.
Who else touches it
Our server is hosted on Amazon's cloud in the United States. Email goes out through Resend. Map tiles and weather come from their providers when you load them; those requests carry the usual technical details any web request carries, not your account. The AI features (sit reports, spot analysis) send the numbers needed to write the report, never your pins' coordinates or your name, to the model provider, and nothing is kept there.
Your controls
- Leave any folder any time; what you contributed to it stays with the folder unless you delete it.
- Turn live sharing, the activity index, and emails on or off in the app.
- Delete your account yourself, any time: Account → Delete my account in the app. Details, and the email route if you can't get in, on the delete your account page.
- Ask for an export from the address you signed up with; done by a person, usually within a few days.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you, and this page will say what changed and when. Last changed: November 2026.
